Job Description:
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a motivated and highly skilled individual to provide planning, scheduling, reporting, and project management for utility right-of-way vegetation management programs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet with land owners to explain vegetation management work.
- Mark work in the field where required.
- Assist in the management of contractors during storm restoration operations.
- Respond to public concerns and questions about the work.
- Assist with develop bid package maps and work manifests.
- Inspect work completed by contractors for compliance to utility specifications.
- Research easement and land rights for widths, rights and restrictions.
- Inspect right-of-ways to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities.
- Assist in the development of public relations materials.
- Provide support and assistance on special projects as assigned by the utility.
- Respond to contractor questions concerning work specification and requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Must have working knowledge of MS office and the ability to learn other software programs as required.
- Must be ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment, ISA Utility Specialist preferred.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to identify local trees and vegetation and their growth rates.
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associates of Arts degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Botany, or minimum 2 years applicable work experience in forestry-related field is preferred.
