Job Description:

The Central Inspection Program (CIP) department performs inspections on different rebate programs. CIP performs inspections for quality assurance purposes. Eighty percent of the inspections performed by CIP are on qualified low-income homes that have been weatherized by contractors through the Energy Savings Assistance Program, formerly known as Energy Partners. The Energy Savings Assistance Program is the single largest energy efficiency program in the country. Inspectors performs a vast array of inspections including attic insulation, door weather stripping, dishwasher rebates, window installations, new lighting, commercial rebates, and many others.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complaints and resolve or elevate to the proper authority.
  • Utilize phone and or site visits to schedule inspections and to route work to ensure customer convenience and employee efficiency.
  • Perform initial and follow-up inspections of energy efficiency measures installed
  • Respond to program manager concerns and requests such as high-profile inspections, suspected fraud cases, short notice inspections, and customer complaints.
  • Coordinate repair and restoration process with HVAC contractor, customer, weatherization contractor, and local building officials.
  • Ensure that all field paperwork is timely, completely, and accurately filled out.
  • Ensure that timecards and expense reporting are completed accurately and submitted timely.
  • Ensure inspection paperwork is complete, accurate, and legible.
  • Ensure the billed measures are present, safely installed to program standards, and are feasible.
  • Follow up to ensure resolution was achieved.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain by first day of employment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime, and out of town if needed
  • Ability to lift an extension ladder
  • Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work/climb with ladders and heights and/or confined spaces
  • Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to crawl in attics and crawl spaces

Qualification & Experience:

  • Knowledge of hazard evaluations theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Knowledge of procurement strategies and processes and relevant regulatory framework as needed to perform at the job level
  • Competency in building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
  • Experience in plumbing, construction, or electric
  • Competency in effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization
  • Knowledge of gas engineering theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Customer service experience
