Job Description:
- Providing Sales-Trading coverage to new and existing EMEA based and International Equity clients as well as coverage of event and special situation client base, this role sits within the EMEA equities business. Candidate will have requisite experience covering event & special situation product coverage into EMEA based clients.
- The sales-trading function plays an important role in harnessing the expertise of our desk and our analysts, ensuring that Citi clients receive best in class execution service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Marketing our EMEA execution capabilities. This will include regular contact with trading desks, and portfolio managers.
- Interface with ECM in support of banking transactions, where applicable.
- Work closely with global sales, sales trading and research teams to ensure an integrated approach to our distribution.
- Establish client and grow relationships with institutional accounts. Introduce new local clients with adequate profile and scope.
- Identify opportunities related to Delta 1 and Derivatives.
- Develop the event sales-trading franchise in EMEA.
Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and fundamentals, combined with in-depth knowledge of financial instruments, asset classes and products – incl. derivatives,
- FI, FX, Commodities and Investment Banking (ECM).
- A strong understanding of the fundamentals of Equity Research and accounting at minimum.
- Any relevant Registered Persons Exams, encompassing the relevant compliance and regulatory modules.
- US Series 7 (if servicing US clients) and FCA (if required to service UK clients).
- Institutional client specific knowledge (investment style, Portfolio composition, AUM etc) and a good fundamental understanding of Equity analysis are specific requirements.
- Demonstrable salestrading experience in equities. Existing client relationships are a key requirement.
- Soft skills: Motivated and enthusiastic, solutions focused approach, good communicator, collaborative and inclusive, organised with a high attention to detail
- Preferably fluent in English and multi-language sills are a plus.
- Strong inter-personal skills required; ability to concentrate for long extended periods while working under pressure.
- Strong Excel and Bloomberg skills
Qualification & Experience:
- A high level of stock specific knowledge.
- A qualification from a tertiary education institution – Business degree (or equivalent) preferred
- Thorough knowledge of equity market dynamics, overlain by a fundamental understanding of valuation and investment theory as well as cross asset class knowledge.
