Job Description:
Manage daily operations of assigned location to provide superior customer service, maximize revenue, enhance visitor experience, and support the mission of the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Job Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of union and part time staff
- Recognize and reward outstanding achievements, be responsive to team needs and interests, and comply with all federal, state and local labor law and equal opportunity requirements
- Product Management, Expense Control & Protection of Assets
- Schedule and implement hourly staffing plan to maximize sales opportunities and provide excellent customer service within budgeted payroll
- Manage the daily operation of assigned area to achieve budgeted sales
- Manage on-site visitor communication materials, including, but not limited to: maps, visit handouts, signs and staff materials
- Personnel Management
- Take corrective action for violations of WCS & departmental rules and procedures
- Ensure the promotion of premium admissions products
Job Requirements:
- Moderate Microsoft Office suite skills
- 2 years minimum of management experience in theme park, zoo, or similar venue; in a fast paced, sales & service focused, seasonal environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational & problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to balance numerous and varied tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to lead & work with a diverse team of full-time and part-time staff with varying skill sets & personalities. Must be comfortable addressing staff behaviors and coaching
