Job Description:
Clean, disinfect and maintain all animal enclosures and wards as directed. Clean and maintain ZHP environs. Prepare regular and prescription diets and formulas as ordered by veterinarians.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist ZHP employees with basic needs within their workspaces.
- Contribute to, enlarge and uphold the Society’s policies toward Equal Employment Opportunities for women, minorities, veterans, the handicapped and other protected groups.
- Perform related tasks and duties as required and/or assigned.
- Provide logistical support for in-hospital and field procedures.
- Assist with inventory orders and record keeping.
- Implement and maintain infectious disease control procedures throughout the facility.
- Feed and care hospitalized and quarantined animals in the ZHP facilities under supervision of Hospital Assistant, Assistant Director or Veterinarian.
- Clean, maintain and refuel the WHC vehicles.
- Assist in cleaning-up and putting away medical equipment and supplies after veterinary procedures.
- Perform daily maintenance of incubators and other similar environmentally controlled enclosures.
Job Requirements:
- Applicant must have successfully graduated from High School (or obtained a GED) and must have completed one year of college.
- Proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination.
- Basic computer literacy in Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel).
- Must be available to work on weekends, specifically Saturday.
- Minimum six months experience in a veterinary clinic, research, zoo, or laboratory animal facility.
Qualification & Experience:
- Proof of up-to-date tetanus vaccination (within 3 months of starting date).
- Minimum six months experience in a veterinary clinic, research, zoo, or laboratory animal facility.
- Basic computer literacy in Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel).
- Rabies Prophylaxis (Company will provide if needed).
- Must be available to work on weekends, specifically Saturday.
- Proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination.
- Proof of negative TB test (within 3 months of starting date).
- Applicant must have successfully graduated from High School (or obtained a GED) and must have completed one year of college.
