Job Description:
Under general supervision performs responsible work in the maintenance and operation of mechanical and electrical systems including but not limited to combustion engines, pumps, valves, process equipment, heating, electric distribution equipment, electric and pneumatic controls associated with the Cogen and buildings on the Cogen thermal loop.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor alarm panel, take necessary action relative to the alarms, keep records and prepare reports.
- Monitor equipment operation, take readings, keep records and prepare reports associated with the Cogen operation.
- Perform the required tasks in order to properly start and run the Cogen engines, generate and distribute electricity, generate and distribute thermal energy to the Cogen thermal loop.
- Maintain the appearance of the work environment. Painting and cleaning will be required as necessary.
- Must work from a 40-foot ladder.
- Assist outside technicians in the service of Cogen related equipment.
Qualification & Experience:
- High School Diploma and five (5) years experience in a related technical field or acceptable technical training.
- Employee must be able to work Saturdays & Sundays & all holidays
- Valid, New York State Driver’s license required.
- Must exhibit an understanding of electricity, process piping and combustion engines and the ability to work with tools.
