Job Description:
The Financial Analyst III will be a key member of the Director, External Reporting & Technical Accounting’s organization and will complement the department’s other accounting resources. The position requires a general understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (“US GAAP”) and SEC regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of segment reporting (under ASC 280), lease accounting (under ASC 842), revenue recognition (under ASC 606), debt and derivatives (under ASC 815).
- Coordinate the financial reporting for employee benefit plans and captive insurance companies.
- Prepare and analyze the statement of cash flows.
- Review contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition procedures (under ASC 606).
- Research, interpret and communicate US GAAP and SEC regulations. Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, including developing accounting policies and procedures and financial disclosures.
- Ensure compliance with SEC XBRL filing requirements.
- Coordinate with our external auditors to ensure timely completion of our quarterly review and annual audit.
- Prepare moderately complex financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and complete individual analytical projects given abstract project guidelines .
- Assist with drafting of financial statements and footnote disclosures for SEC filings. Coordinate efforts with internal departments and external groups to gather financial and non-financial information for use in SEC filings.
- Assist with evaluating the accounting consequences of potential transactions and provide input and suggestions to planned and proposed agreements, as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Exceptional business acumen.
- Required: CPA. Candidates who are eligible to sit for their CPA Exam will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
- General understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and SEC regulations;
Qualification & Experience:
- A minimum of five plus years of relevant, progressive experience. A combination of public accounting (Big 4) and public company accounting experience with SEC reporting, preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred
