Job Description: Disney is looking for an experienced Associate Product Development Manager to join our Global Product Creation team working in Softlines. The Associate Product Development Manager will in conjunction with the Senior Product Development Manager, lead and execute the product development, design and approval process for UK based apparel licensees. They will work with creative, category, franchise and brand merchandising to ensure highest quality, consumer-focused, trend-right product lines across licensing and direct-to-retail (DTR) that build brand equity and meet financial targets. Job Responsibilities: With a focus on creativity and innovation, develop and deliver high quality, authentic storytelling products, which are scalable, and have longevity Inspire licensees through competitor trend research, market and social trends Ensure all licensee product submissions are routed through Disney’s Online Product Approval system (OPA) as per global product integrity guidelines Offer creative input and trend direction to inspire licensees/retailers and help drive quality product Ensure licensees are provided appropriate creative assets for product development, developing new assets as required against the specific needs of the category Work with licensees and collaboration partners to design and approve market-leading product lines for the franchises Develop and manage the creative output from licensees ensuring product innovation, brand consistency and compelling execution within a commercial context Execute the approval process from initiation to production in a timely manner Responsible for monitoring competitors, product innovations and market dynamics to deliver trend-right products for each segment of the retail landscape Work with licensees and collaborators to lead the development of consumer-centric product lines that are trend-right, deliver market-leading innovation, drive revenue and capture market share globally and locally Job Requirements: Ability to communicate design ideas using freehand drawing, computer techniques and/or third party design resources A high level of understanding, attention to detail and market knowledge for products that fall within relevant categories Understanding of production techniques and graphic applications with an eye for colour and shape Ability to communicate a clear design brief and ensure deliverable meets all criteria Good knowledge of trends within the fashion industry and the broader world of fashion design with an ability to interpret trends into commercial designs (fashion roles only) Qualification & Experience: Working knowledge of common manufacturing techniques and their application in production Some packaging experience, desirable Previous product development and design experience, essential Experience within consumer products commercialisation Proven experience of building effective relationships Proven experience of managing & developing the performance of a team or individual Degree level education in product design or equivalent work experience Job Details: Company: The Walt Disney Company Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: London, England, United Kingdom Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careersvite.com
