Vice President, Media Strategy and Consumer Marketing – Univision USA Careers

Job Description:

The VP will direct the media strategy teams in developing innovative on-air, cross channel off-air and grass roots viral marketing campaigns that maximize ROI. In addition, the role will oversee the marketing operational process to ensure continued efficiencies and reliability and the highest level of quality control for all promotional assets. The VP position will work with key executive teams around influencing the network’s graphic look, voice and promotional messaging in print, online, radio and in digital and social media executions.

The VP will also lead a team of planners who will develop, produce, and maintain critical metric reports and dashboards across key performance indicators. He or She will champion and oversee the development and execution of innovative and creative work that conveys the networks brand and programming messaging across all platforms while ensuring all operated and owned network inventory is carefully managed and optimized. This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Consumer & Corporate Marketing

Job Responsibilities:

  • On-going partnership with senior management as a key leader of the senior network leadership team, defining ongoing business strategies and network priorities.
  • Identify, prioritize and manage distribution partnership marketing inventory that have the potential for significant impact against marketing goals and enhance the channel’s visibility and appeal to viewers
  • Provide the kind of thinking that questions the status quo and that will inspire break-through marketing campaigns that will drive the brand’s value and ratings
  • Provide creative strategy for campaign development, collaborative insight on planning and execution
  • Lead and inspire a team of strategist, producers, broadcast and graphic designers to create all campaign elements
  • Work with Programming to ensure collaboration across all promotable title’s while collectively developing strategic creative briefs based on consumer research
  • Ensuring maximum reliability of the on-air and related support systems, and reporting of all critical issues
  • Ongoing training and staff development, creating improved workflow processes that drive innovation through the implementation of new technology
  • Lead, mentor and develop the performance of the entire media planning and creative network teams

Job Requirements:

  • Possess strong financial/budgetary acumen
  • Expertise launching and workflow implementation of broadcast branded engines, Miranda Vertigo XG, Pixel Power Playout
  • Knowledge of sales and promotional optimizer tools Gripit!, T-Pro Optimum
  • Proven track record of creating high-quality work, including demonstrated experience in all facets of on-air promotional strategy
  • Must possess strong industry relationships, knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Self-starter with flexibility to multi-task, operate within budgetary and schedule constraints and thrive in a collaborative high-pressured environment
  • Bilingual – Highly proficient in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Expertise in traffic systems, Wide Orbit, IBMS a plus
  • Business Intelligence software performance optimization management a plus i.e., Domo, Tableau

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of experience in a Broadcast & Cable network environment, specifically within on air promotions, off air media buying, and operations with a proven leadership in directing strategic marketing work
  • Accountable to operate with a strong understanding of a multi-channel broadcast facility supporting multiple networks and feeds
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast & cable TV operations, television branding and pop culture, on-air strategies and tactics that drive ratings and viewership
  • Strategic and competitive mindset and seasoned analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and strong negotiator
