Job Description: This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area (PA), Location Support Staff, Manhattan, Kansas. The incumbent provides leadership in the management of business functions in support of research programs at the location and works closely with the location's management team to efficiently and effectively carry out all administrative operations. Time in grade: Applicants must have one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade. At the GS-12: Qualification & Experience: Qualifying experience for GS- 11 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS- 09 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience developing administrative policies and procedures; performing budget administration duties for an organization to include developing the yearly budget; and being involved in a hiring process.
