Job Description:

As an Investigative Analyst you will perform work involving research, analysis, and/or evaluation of information to assist investigators in ongoing investigations in the Office of Investigations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities described are for the GS-12 level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the OI Regional Offices and/or the Intake Division.
  • Conduct complex data base searches, analyzing and evaluating the results, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to investigate cases in support of the OI.
  • Utilizes agency and law enforcement databases to perform independent and complex data-entry, analysis and lead development activities.
  • Utilizes computer databases, electronic spreadsheets, desktop publishing, word processing, statistical applications and specialized software applications to analyze and present, misconduct and investigative information.
  • Prepares comprehensive evaluation reports and summary case assessments of employee misconduct for leadership’s consideration in developing actions plans to meet OI’s short and long-term goals.
  • Evaluates the research findings, determines the next steps and takes appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Exhibits superior interpersonal skills and interviewing techniques to collect information and details essential to accurate data-entry, lead development and investigation.

Qualification & Experience:

  • You qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • You must have experience performing the following duties:
  • Assisting with processing incoming reports of employees’ misconduct cases in a case management system
  • Generating documents and correspondence in support of investigative programs
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating investigative case files and other program area files
    Providing administrative and technical support for investigators OR
