Job Description:
You’ll be working in our Central Counterparties (CCP) Credit Risk Control team in London on a permanent basis. We are responsible for supervising credit relationships across UBS’ global CCP portfolio and other clearing and settlement-related credit relationships including payment, clearing and settlement houses, 3rd party clearing brokers and custody relationships as applicable. Clearing exposure results from both UBS house and UBS client clearing activities across a wide range of asset classes across ETD, OTC, SFT and equity.
Job Responsibilities:
- identify trends and developments across our Global CCP portfolio, and clearing industry in general
- verify the integrity of data in credit and other systems
- participate with CCPs and industry bodies in consultation on risk-related rule changes or regulatory proposals
- prepare written credit reviews and credit proposals for submission and presentation to 1st and 2nd line management, providing
- recommendations on appropriate credit limits, and drawing conclusions related to the credit assessment and our bank’s risk tolerance
- liaise with our 1st line business partners and support staff to resolve limit violations
- monitor credit quality and regulatory qualifying status on an ongoing basis
- assess the default and risk management practices of CCPs, as well as their regulatory qualifying status versus regulatory best practice recommendations and other factors
- interact with CCPs to conduct due diligence and obtain relevant information to complete credit requests and clarify issues that can arise as to the suitability of the different cleared products
- provide subject matter expert advice regarding our CCP risk models, for example our rating and stress models
- evaluate CCP credit risk based on the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative factors
Job Requirements:
- familiarity with relevant trading documentation, including FIA clearing agreements, CCP rules & regulations, ISDA and CSA, MRA, MLSA, and MSFTA
- previous experience in performing credit analysis of central counterparties
- prior experience analyzing the financial conditions of companies
- 3+ years of experience in a credit analyst or related financial services position
- knowledge of international financial markets, securities and banking industries as well as traded products
