Job Description:

Ameren Transmission Company is a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation dedicated to electric transmission infrastructure investment, expanding Ameren’s already robust transmission system of nearly 7,800 circuit miles of high-voltage transmission lines in Illinois and Missouri.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to committees or groups as needed.
  • Adhere to established standards of the GIS systems to ensure consistency & long term maintainability.
  • Insure that displays are segregated properly for appropriate user access to maintain compliance with FERC Code of Conduct rules.
  • Create reports and maintain accurate documentation summarizing display maintenance activity.
  • Cross-train with peers to enable successful support in other areas of GIS responsibility within the Transmission Technical Support group.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide consulting services to other groups in matters relating to substations and also substation standards development.
  • Responsible for overall project cost and scheduling; coordinate activities related to real estate, purchasing, drafting, construction, operating and related engineering groups associated with projects.
  • Develop engineering solutions, cost estimates, schedules and preliminary designs associated with initial development and budgeting of substation projects.
  • Perform detailed design, writing and evaluating material and construction specifications.
  • Work closely with engineering firms contracted to perform Ameren Transmission substation design services.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Assist planning engineers in updating of software systems and databases
  • The co-op works a standard day shift in an office environment. Occasional field visits may be required to verify data. NERC background check required.
  • Perform power flow and reliability studies for segments of the electrical transmission system to test for adequacy of existing and/or planned additional facilities.
  • Conduct special studies as assigned (historical data analysis, benchmarking, etc.)
