Job Description:

The MGH Center for Ultrasound Research & Translation (CURT), is a collegial and multidisciplinary research team, focusing on clinical translational research and innovation in the field of medical ultrasound. Our aim is to improve human health by developing, validating, and promoting the use of advanced ultrasound imaging develop cutting-edge technologies targeted at important clinical problems.

Under the supervision of the MD faculty and the CURT program manager, the incumbent will provide hands-on technical expertise in obtaining and analyzing research scans and ultrasound data while also participating in the overall collection, management, and analysis of clinical research studies being conducted at CURT.

During the training period as a research coordinator, the incumbent will work collaboratively on various studies under the supervision of post-doctoral research fellows. Upon successful research credentialing, the research coordinator’s day-to-day activities are under the direction of senior post-doctoral research fellow leading each clinical study. Reporting structure is to MD CURT faculty, and the CURT Program Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of universal precautions.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound imaging and ultrasound equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the principles of ultrasound physics.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and appropriate imaging techniques to research subjects.

Job Requirements:

  • The qualified candidate should be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Write and manage submissions to the Institutional Review Board, Biomedical engineering and other hospital and safety compliance offices.
  • Knowledgeable in hospital policies for secure communication with subjects
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an integrated research teams.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certified by ARDMS
  • CITI certified to work on federal grants required within first month of employment. Employees who are unable to obtain certification after 1 month will be terminated for failure to maintain certification.
