Job Description:

You are an energetic Public Relations professional who will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive image for our company. This role suits a detail oriented self starter with a passion for hospitality. You love to travel, working with media, writing, motivating people, collaborating with and leading a team. You should have a strong background in traditional media relations, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide biweekly reports weekly on public relations engagement/activity
• Preparing and editing external communications, including media releases and advertorials
• Writing and distributing press releases and other written materials
• Monitoring press coverage across for Blue Diamond Resorts
• Reviewing and responding to brand mentions through third party sites and forums
• Monitoring and reporting on brand tracking trends and identifying opportunities
• Travel frequently to destination to ensure alignment between Hotels and corporate office
• Planning media interviews and corporate speaking opportunities
• Coordinating media events and media fam trips
• Reviewing media editorial calendars and proactively submitting content for consideration
• Manage all Public Relations Strategies for Blue Diamond Resorts including: Trade/Consumer Media for all hotels and ensure all properties are on strategy/brand for both Cuba and the America’s
• Manage Public Relations firms in Mexico, U.S. and LATAM as well as our celebrity agency in the U.S.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with tourism boards, consumer and industry media groups

Job Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• Available for regular business travel as part of the role
• Strong coach, able to motivate team members from different cultures and countries
• Must be organized and practice effective time management
• Must recognize this position operates outside of normal business hours (evenings/weekends)

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum of four (4) year’s as a Public Relations professional in an environment which has multiple hotel brands
• Experience as a Public Relations professional working on a hotel brand(s) is required
• Experience in crisis communications
