Job Description:
The Store Design Planner role is responsible for the store brand design layouts, and merchandise capacity and flow on all store projects in accordance with merchandising criteria, prototype standards, and project objectives while ensuring store operational soundness driven by layout. Responsible for the accurate, consistent, and timely completion of all store project plans including new stores, remodels, rollouts, and special projects. Responsible for generating project cost estimates to appropriate budget scopes, validating assortment capacity fit, accurate fixture data files for proper fixture purchasing orders and allocation, and coordination of architectural and general construction details, and scope on all new stores and remodels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the Construction Department and external architectural firms regarding the building plan backgrounds, exterior elevations, revisions, and then guides Store Planning
- Coordinator through the distribution of the fixture plans and revisions.
- Oversees and reviews the Store Planning Coordinator’s work and verifying correctness and completion. Oversees the distribution of the project plans to field operations.
- Responsible for assigned expert role including; establish and maintain partner team relationship, lead status meetings, review all existing documented expert process, regularly update
- Expert Tracking document, existing tools and process and ensure teams are using/ following, and participate in team, cross functional or new hire training.
- Responsible for overseeing the production of accurate and consistent plans for chain-wide rollout initiatives. These plans must follow pre-determined criteria set by the Store Planning
- Manager and Director.
- Responsible for overseeing the production of accurate and consistent project plans for New and Remodel stores in accordance with the project schedule, design criteria, project intent and scope guidelines required. Responsible for checking the plans against checklists and criteria and preparing the plans for internal review and tracking revisions and subsequent reviews until approval.
- Store Design Planner is responsible for completion of store layouts and fixture and project phase plans, construction scope plans and review of Store Planning Coordinator plans to ensure all plans (fixtures, accessory, signage, finish, electrical, flooring) in the plan set are accurate, on time and meeting budget ($150,000-$400,000 per project). Actual volume can vary based on work load but typically (3) new or remodel stores per group as well as the plans needed for the proper communication of special projects and fixture/merchandise rollouts (counts vary widely annually, 25-100 plans per year). Store Design Planner manage priorities of tasks and timeline of overlapping projects at various stages of task completion for approximately (20) New or
- Remodel projects at a time. Store Design Planners are also responsible for an assigned department expert role to act as liaison between Store Planning and 1 or more assigned partner teams.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in the field of store planning, interior design, architecture, merchandise planning and presentation, or a related field, along with AutoCAD (or equivalent) training.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum: 3+ years experience in Store Planning, Interior Design, or Architecture including design and drafting experience.
- Preferred: 4 years experience in areas stated above consisting of 2 years experience in store planning or construction. 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
- MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Access) and AutoCAD (or equivalent) experienceNCIDQ certification, sketch-up experience.
