Sr. Industrial Engineer – Petsmart Job Application

Job Description:

This job is responsible for Distribution’s continuous improvement, operational excellence and the labor management program and is a subject matter expert for the network. The role focuses on promoting network alignment for labor standards and operational process. The incumbent leads and/or participates in medium to large cross-functional projects. This role influences through partnerships across the organization to gain support for projects, initiatives, etc. Mentors more junior team members.

Job Responsibilities:

• Works to establish appropriate metrics and other reporting to guide leaders in their everyday decision making.
• Acts as a subject matter expert on the metrics/reporting and how to use, understand, and action the results
• Provides guidance to DC teams for consistent execution of processes and best practice.
• Acts as a mentor to more junior team members.
• Leads or participates in medium to large cross-functional projects
• Participates with department leadership to guide labor management program, ensuring consistent execution across the network.
• Serves as subject matter expert for the network labor management program.
• Identifies process, technology and system improvement opportunities and assesses the impact of those identified by the DC teams.
• Works to prioritize and set direction.

Job Requirements:

• Experience conducting time studies and development of engineered labor standards
• Experience with Warehouse and labor management systems
• PREFERRED: Proficiency in SQL; Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodology;

Qualification & Experience:

• Requires proficiency typically obtained with 5+ years experience in relevant or related position in engineering support or operations improvement in a retail, manufacturing or comparable environment.
• Requires knowledge normally obtained through Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
