Job Description: The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Neurology Department, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a world leader in brain research, is seeking a full stack developer to join the Clinical Data Animation Center (CDAC). CDAC’s mission is to bring the power of medical Big Data to MGH Neurology. CDAC fosters medical AI and biomedical informatics research by providing critical infrastructure, tools and expertise for working with medical Big Data; supporting clinical process improvements that can benefit from Big Data analytics; and enabling retrospective and prospective studies using MGH’s data archives and via continual capture of new data. Our team is building the data resources, models, algorithms, and pipelines needed to harness the power of medical Big Data in pursuit of CDAC’s mission. We are looking for a full stack developer who can thrive in pursuit of this mission alongside experts in neurology, neuroscience, statistics, time series analysis, machine learning, and computer science. Job Responsibilities: Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages. Meeting both technical and end-user needs. Management of a large national hospital-based database. Software development and code management. Creating servers and databases for functionality. Management of a large physiological database. Ensuring responsiveness of applications. Seeing through a project from conception to finished product. Designing and developing APIs. Job Requirements: Attention to detail. Good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated knowledge of database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Strong organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React and Amber. Demonstrated proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP and .Net. Demonstrated proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Excellent verbal communication skills. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. A concentration in Computer Science is preferred. Exceptionally qualified candidates with a degree in statistics, machine learning, electronic engineering, or applied mathematics may also be considered. Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP and .Net. Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB. Experience with agile processes (e.g. scrum).
