Job Description:
Maintain a current Ellis and Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard license. Adhere to all Ellis and Associates and Hurricane Harbor aquatic standards, including regularly attending in-service training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily aquatic attraction and equipment safety checks.
- Within the assigned area, respond to all aquatic rescues and events that interrupt the aquatic environment or compromise the safety of any person.
- Must ensure that all lifeguards adhere to the professional, knowledge and skill standards set forth by Ellis and Associates and Hurricane Harbor.
- Perform Lifeguard shifts as needed.
- Coordinate nightly clean-up procedures in the area, including, but not limited to, returning tubes to Tube Rentals and trash pick-up.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of assigned area, including, but not limited to, general Lifeguard supervision, attraction operation compliance, and, aquatic safety.
- Ensure that lifeguards rotate positions hourly and maintain records of rotation.
- Assign and document all breaks and lunches of employees.
- Document all tardiness and absenteeism of lifeguards as mandated by Hurricane Harbor policies.
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Physical mobility–the ability to move in different workstations, hand and arm movement.
- Must possess the ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
Qualification & Experience:
- Must be able to communicate and effectively work with others.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Previous Aquatics experience is preferred.
- For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
- Good analytical problem-solving skills.
