Job Description:
Starbucks is seeking a full-time Senior Developer to join the Digital Workplace team at the Starbucks Technology Center (STC) in Scottsdale, Arizona, a satellite office of the Starbucks corporate headquarters in Seattle. The Digital Workplace team, with members located in both Seattle and Arizona, designs and implements cutting-edge software solutions for hundreds of thousands of Starbucks retail and corporate partners. This is an exciting opportunity to help define and create the tools we’ll use to support our retail stores for years to come.
Starbucks maintains a close partnership with Arizona State University, and at the STC we draw much of our talent from the university’s internship program. Together, Starbucks and ASU cultivate a culture of career growth and learning, enabling our intern partners to contribute to and accelerate the Starbucks technology roadmap. As a senior member of our team you will be heavily involved in the growth of our intern partners and junior developers alike, many of whom were once interns themselves. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are a must.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in security reviews and adapt program code to address vulnerabilities
- Monitor application health and quickly respond to issues in production software
- Regularly communicate with product and development teams in Seattle
- Mentor and inspire junior developers and intern partners
- Closely work with PMs to write and curate stories and feature requirements
- Build, iterate, test, and enhance applications for our retail partners
- Partner closely with the design team to build world-class user experiences
- Lead architecture and code review discussions
- Optimize existing code for maintainability and testability

Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with one or more common mobile architectural patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM)
- Experience with Airwatch, or similar MDM technologies for delivering applications to the enterprise
- Solid grasp of mobile networking concepts, GraphQL, and RESTful API web services.
- Experience with both unit and UI testing (XCTest)
- Expert understanding of the Cocoa Touch framework
- Expertise building and animating custom UI components.
- Experience with Apple’s developer portal and App Store Connect
- 5+ years’ software development experience
- Expertise with Git & GitHub
- Experience with Buddybuild, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD technologies
- 5+ years of professional experience in developing iOS apps
