Job Description: As a Communications Specialist, you’ll support SeaWorld San Diego and Sesame Place San Diego parks by supporting and assisting in generating positive media coverage for the brand, responding to media inquiries, content creation for social media channels, and developing relationships to increase brand awareness on a local and national level. Job Responsibilities: Develop press materials including press releases, fact sheets, messaging documents, blogs, social media content, and pitch materials Support new campaigns through proactive media outreach across print, broadcast, and online outlets across family, travel, lifestyle, consumer, targeted trade outlets Review and manage incoming community relation requests Media monitoring and reporting for both proactive and reactive/crisis issues Plan, write, and edit engaging, channel-specific social media content for a variety of digital platforms and diverse audiences Support influencer programs by researching and building new relationships Manage and update database of media contacts, including developing media contact lists Community management and monitoring of brand social media channels and regular collaboration with guest services to field customer inquiries Maintain industry knowledge and keep up to date on social media trends, platform features, and best practices Job Requirements: Hospitality, theme park, zoo, or related industry experience preferred 2+ years’ experience in Public Relations Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, or a related field 2+ years’ experience managing social media platforms Experience with content creation- photography, videography – and editing a plus. Fluent in English. Spanish a plus.
