Software Developer – State Farm Insurance Careers

Job Description:

Enterprise Technology is searching for a Software Developer where the focus is on data transformation for the Injury insights model execution. The individual will need extensive software experience in multiple frameworks, databases, visualization tools, stream data and related technologies. The individual will participate in a working relationship with other teams within ET to provide the data analysis needed for the ET claims model. This individual will also provide key leadership and advocate proper team culture and championing product ownership practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Desired 1 year experience in one of the data base management systems: Oracle DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Knowledge in containers and container based APIs
• Knowledge using data visualization tools
• Ability to use relational databases (e.g., Db2, postgreSQL, SQL server)
• Possess knowledge of various streaming data (Spark, Kafka)
• Demonstrated experience working across frameworks, data bases and web services, data analytics
• Working knowledge of multiple frameworks (Cloudera Hadloop, RESTful, etc.
• Knowledge around continuous integration and continuous delivery infrastructure (GIT, GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
• Partnering with agile teams using Scrum.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to quickly adapt to a changing and fast-paced agile development environment
• DevOps mindset, utilizing numerous software databases, frameworks, visualization tools, data analytics and other related technologies
• Ability to interact and work on Agile teams using various techniques
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical knowledge effectively

Qualification & Experience:

• At least 2 years of software development experience with SQL, Spark and Python
• A Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or 4 additional years of related experience
