Provide primary support to the Senior Manager, Ground Safety and all areas of the department. Provide secondary support to the Senior Manager, Flight and Maintenance Safety and Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support and promote the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) (14 CFR Part 5)
- Assist with aircraft ground damage and on-the-job-injury (OJI) investigations, root cause identification, trend analysis and prevention initiatives
- Provide on-site support at various locations to assist with ground safety issues
- Work with employees and leadership to understand safety concepts, policies and programs to produce a safe work environment
- Conduct trend analysis to monitor ground safety and operational reliability
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned, in order to achieve departmental and company safety objectives to include presentations and statistical reports
- Assist in Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) auditing requirements, conduct station de/anti-icing and American Eagle Ground Operations Manual EGOM audits
- Work with a hub and several field city locations, including Ground Support Equipment (GSE) shops, to increase the level of safety
- Conduct safety evaluations, audits, and inspections
- Assist in investigations, follow-up actions and evaluate corrective action effectiveness for regulatory non-compliance to include OSHA, environmental and security events
- Publish monthly and yearly aircraft ground damage summary reports
Job Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- A team player possessing the ability to work independently and excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Well-developed inter-personal skills and the ability to get along with others. Confident, tactful, professional and flexible. Enjoys working with
- both front-line employees and management
Qualification & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Academic safety education or training
- Experience conducting regulatory and operational audits
- Previous experience working with an airline safety department
- Strong knowledge of airline ramp and gate operations, company safety policies, accident/incident investigation and prevention programs and
- aviation safety programs
