Job Description:
The Office of Occupational Health Environmental and Safety Services (OHESS) known as the NSA Medical Center, supports the mission by applying professional knowledge in Occupational Health, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Safety operating in accordance with all governing body regulations. OHESS personnel will provide clinical services, including emergency response, physical exams, immunizations, vision and preventative health screenings. Personnel will also provide technical, managerial, and administrative services to the entire workforce. Promoting, assessing and optimizing the health and safety of the NSA workforce and workplace is always priority.
Job Responsibilities:
- The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense.
- The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.
- The Human Resources Group, specifically Employee Assistance Service (EAS), is seeking one Clinical Psychologist.
- A Clinical Psychologist in the Employee Assistance Services Offices supports the mission by conducting clinical assessments followed by brief therapy and/or referral to appropriate outside resources; time-limited group therapy, attend clinical case review meetings, as well as completing various required administrative services.
- Clients include Agency employees, assignees and, when deemed appropriate, their respective spouses.
- In addition, the psychologist will provide continuing education workshops for OHESS staff, as well as present workshops and other prevention, intervention and wellness programs for the general NSAG workforce.
Job Requirements:
- The ideal Clinical Psychologist candidate will possess a knowledge of the principles, theories and accepted practices of Clinical Psychology as they relate to knowledge and skills to (a) assess employees and affiliates; (b) identify, prevent and solve individual and organizational adjustment problems; (c) optimize work/life balance for individuals and organizations; and (d) provide psychological consultation and training to operational personnel.
- The employee shall perform, but not be limited to, the following Clinical assessment of Agency Employees, assignees, and their spouses, to include: -reviewing intake data and other pertinent information, -conducting a clinical interview/assessment, -determining diagnosis based on DSM 5 criteria -documenting all case contacts in SOAP format within five working days, -developing a treatment plan -documentation of clinical assessment Brief therapy and /or referral to appropriate community resource, to include: -short term therapeutic intervention (10 or fewer sessions), -when indicated, referral to outside mental health providers, support groups, social services, etc.
Qualification & Experience:
- The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates’ education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.
- Entry is with a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. Degree must be in Clinical Psychology.
- Relevant experience must be in clinical psychology, and may also include performing psychology-related work (internships count against this requirement).
- A valid license to practice psychology in any state or territory is required. Security Clearance: -access to classified information is required to perform specified duties.
- Position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. -completion of Nondisclosure Statement as well as maintain patient confidentiality is a requirement.
