Job Description:
The Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate at NASA Langley Research Center is currently seeking interested applicants for Vehicle Configuration Specialist (Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineer) in the Aeronautics Systems Analysis Branch (ASAB). The ASAB performs systems analysis, mission analysis, tools and methods development, and safety and technology assessments for novel vehicle and airspace concepts. Job Requirements:
In addition to the basic education requirement (shown below), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
Qualification & Experience:
- One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level: assisting a team of engineers involved in the analysis of engineering methods and procedures; or experience that demonstrates application of aerospace or related engineering principles and analytical methods relating to atmospheric vehicles and/or systems;
- Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field by June 30. 2025.
- Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above by June 30, 2025. To qualify for GS-11, you must have:
- Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above by June 30, 2025.
- Completed 2 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field by June 30, 2025.
- Completed all requirements for a master’s or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field by June 30, 2025.
- You must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: conducting engineering analysis and/or assessments of methods and procedures; or experience that demonstrates application of aerospace or related engineering principles sufficient to accomplish test, analysis, and technical problem solving on atmospheric vehicles and/or systems; and providing technical written and oral guidance on various study and analysis results;
- Completed 3 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field by June 30, 2025.
