Job Description:
The Mobile Applications Programmer Internship is a part-time position that works with Menards mobile devices such as smartphone, tablet, and internal handheld applications. The position requires a highly motivated, team-oriented person with excellent communication skills and an emphasis in JAVA, C#, Objective C, Swift, and/or VB.NET development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Development & Support:
- Using JAVA, Objective C, Swift and .NET platform to develop and maintain current mobile applications
- Work through the entire development lifecycle, creating program specifications through coding, implementation, and testing
- Create test plans and thoroughly test/debug all programs prior to implementation
- Provide weekly status updates on current projects
- Work with store, Help Desk, and technical support Team Members to troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of User’s operations to facilitate communication regarding User’s requirements
- Project Standards and Procedures:
- Follow all Corporate Standards and IS Systems Standards to develop and support projects
- Provide input to IS Standards if existing standards require modifications or changes
- Production Issues:
- Identify problem trends (single site or overall) pro-actively
- Execute action plan(s) to determine problems, develop and implement resolutions
- Follow established processes for problem handling and resolution
- Other:
- Suggest and recommend ways of improving the quality of work within the team
- Maintain information confidentiality and security
- Other tasks as assigned by Mobile Technology & Initiatives Manager
Job Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in IS, Computer Science or a related field and is within three semesters of graduation
- Knowledge of mobile programming languages including JAVA, C#, Visual Basic, HTML, Swift and Objective C is a plus
- Knowledge of the JAVA programming language, Object Oriented Design
Qualification & Experience:
- Familiarity with XML, Eclipse, Android Studio and Visual Studio is helpful
- Excellent design and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
