Job Description:
The EAR, NOSE, and THROAT operating unit offers a broad portfolio that addresses urologic and gastrointestinal disorders, conditions of the ear, nose and throat, as well as electrosurgical products for soft tissue dissection and hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone. The devices we are responsible for designing allow us to treat disease states such as Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), head and neck cancers, and skull base tumors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify technology and product concepts that contribute to advancement of treatments for chronic rhinosinusitis, thyroid conditions, otologic and neurotologic disorders, hearing loss, and sleep-disordered breathing.
- Utilize a high level of self-motivation and hands-on skills to simplify complicated problems. Assignments are often self-initiated; determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
- Provide technical input supporting submissions to regulatory bodies and governmental agencies.
- Work cross functionally with Process Development, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and Clinical to fulfill PDP deliverables for new product development project.
- Design, develop, and refine new products.
- Lead test method development activities.
- Participate in multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in new product development and technology research projects from conception to finish.
- Lead Design verification and validation activities.
- Work on technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions
- Support the transfer of newly developed products and processes from R&D to production.
- Works with supervision from more experienced engineers to complete project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
- Define product requirements.
- Contribute technical expertise in development and investigation projects.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) / Design, Reliability, Manufacturability (DRM) Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
- Application of statistical and analytical methods such as SPC, SQC, and DOE
- Experience with design of injection molded plastics
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in order to interact with and influence all levels of the business as well as customers and partners.
- Working knowledge in materials associated with medical devices such as polymers (nylons, polyethylene, polypropylene, PEEK, Pebax, PTFE, FEP, polycarbonate, etc.) metals (stainless steel, aluminum, nitinol, etc.), ceramic, fiber, composites, etc.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience working within regulated industry (Medical, Aerospace, Automotive)

- Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree required with 0+ years of experience
- Expert level experience with test method development, protocol generation, execution, and reporting
- Experience with Creo Solid Modeling
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis
