Georgia-Pacific is seeking a safety-oriented individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician in DeQuincy, LA. This position is an experienced skilled crafts role that creates value by performing a variety of maintenance duties, ensuring maximum facility uptime to meet production goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment for improved reliability and uptime
- Communicating with operations associates to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
- Maintaining highest level of housekeeping standards for the facility
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with preventative and predictive maintenance
- Experience troubleshooting conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps
- Maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing and/or military environment
- Willing and able to work in high and/or confined spaces
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
- Willing and able to work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
Qualification & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with fabrication and welding
- Experience diagnosing and repairing PLCs and electronic/electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other mechanical systems
- Two (2) years or more of mechanical or millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
- Wood products maintenance experience a plus
