Duke Energy’s Corporate Audit Services Department delivers world-class internal audit services that enable Duke Energy to achieve superior performance. You will work in high-performing teams that add value, drive effective risk management, enhance operational efficiency, and facilitate constructive change while also focusing on employee and professional development. The IT Audit Consultant performs complex IT-related audit assignments under the direction of an in-charge auditor. They work in a team environment on various audit activities including performing risk assessments, development of audit test plans, gathering and analyzing data to draw appropriate conclusions, preparing audit deliverables to support conclusions, and communicating audit issues. The IT Audit Consultant will interface with others, including various levels of management, in and outside the department, and at times third party vendors. Each audit lasts approximately 6-8 weeks in length, so the subject, risk, audit clients and teams change frequently. The IT Audit Consultant must draw on a wide range of technical IT skills to understand risk and potential IT-related issues across a wide range of disciplines including IT applications, databases, infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data analytics to determine areas of highest risk and provide customer value. Build and maintain effective relationships with audit customers including various levels of management Work with internal audit professionals on internal improvement initiatives to drive productivity, efficiencies, and quality improvements within Corporate Audit Services
  • Monitor and track the status of post-audit action plans and perform follow-up procedures to validate implementation and risk mitigation
  • Gather and analyze data, using reasoning and logic, and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of processes with an appropriate level of professional skepticism

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to assess and determine risk impacts
  • Prior IT audit experience in a professional services firm or fortune 500 company
  • In addition to required degree, three (3) years minimum related work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately using oral and written communications
  • Ability to reason logically, analyze data presented, evaluate the impact of information collected, and draw appropriate conclusions

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer and Information Science, Management Information Systems, or Cybersecurity
  • Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Certified Internal Auditor and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor and/or Certified Public Accountant
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, MIS or Cybersecurity
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance , Computer Science or other related discipline
