Honeywell Entry Level Jobs – Senior Application Developer

Job Description:

Provide leadership and support for a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) application. Lead critical project enhancement and upgrade efforts that require demonstrated experience in back-end programming. Responsible for application analysis, design, development and integration efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide buy vs. build recommendations, including advising on system options, risks, return on investment (ROI), and impact to business processes
• Participate in planning and road mapping sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments
• Design and develop solutions to integrate vendor supplied software with other enterprise applications and data
• Works closely with Technical Review Board and Enterprise Architects to assure all systems are in line with the corporate and IT strategy
• Proactively analyze existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements
• Provide technical guidance and business process expertise, technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members
• Perform installation, functional and performance testing, daily production support, maintenance, and modification of vendor supplied software
• Resolve complex computer security issues by designing, developing, and implementing innovative technical solutions
• May oversee or lead the evaluation and selection process for application packages
• Demonstrates project management skills and serve as a technical lead on IT projects

Qualification & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience with Source Control (e.g. Git, SVN)
• Programming experience in various major programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python)
• Demonstrated experience with HTTP web server environments (e.g. Tomcat)
• Five or more years of direct work experience
• Demonstrated experience in Spring, JMS, XML and JSON
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Technical Lead in support of projects.”
• Demonstrated experience creating Web Service APIs
• Demonstrates high and / or broad level industry knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Java and / or Java based COTS applications
• Bachelors degree, certification and seven years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree
