Job Description:

Our Production Lead coordinates and assists the activities of Gordon Food Service (GFS) warehouse including shipping, receiving, inventory and/ or selection in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor. This role is a vital part of our leadership structure and we want you to be part of it!

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in resolving warehouse issues, problems or conflicts
• Coordinates with the supervisors to assist in coordinating the daily activities of GFS warehouse
• Assists in investigating variances
• Assists in observations, employee reviews, and disciplinary actions. Provides recommendations on hiring, performance review and disciplinary actions to warehouse supervisor.
• Monitors and prioritizes order fulfillment
• Serve in the function of employee or supervisor as appropriate
• Assists in the administration function and record keeping for the department to include daily time and attendance, weekly action incentive input and scoring, preparing meetings, and analyzing error ratios
• Monitors the receiving, selection, and/ or loading of warehouse products to ensure the efficient flow of products in the warehouse
• Provides training for employees on job technique and/or safety requirements

Job Requirements:

• Must have a basic understanding of DOT, OSHA, EEOC and other related regulatory agencies and laws
• Must have good leadership skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills and good organizational and problem solving skills
• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations
• Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance
• Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment
