Global Sourcing Category Manager – Amgen Jobs 2022

Job Description:

The Global Category Strategic Sourcing Manager, based at Amgen’s Thousand Oaks, CA global headquarters, will report into the Sales & Marketing Sr. Manager within Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS).

The Global Category Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for ~$200M spend across various Sales and Marketing categories which includes Agencies, Print and Sales Support. The category manager will be accountable for developing and managing the overall sourcing and supplier management processes across these categories of external spend. This role serves as a key strategic partner to the Amgen’s Commercial Operations and corporate Affairs Team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop and deploy best practice supplier and cost management, procurement and Category management practices
• Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders within Amgen Commercial function, Corporate Affairs and Medical teams
• Design and develop the sourcing strategy spanning across select categories within Sales & Marketing
• Act as subject matter expert (SME) on Amgen Sourcing Policy, best practices and compliance
• Lead and influence stakeholder groups with sound and articulate recommendations through to supplier selection
• Act as a trusted business advisor providing thought leadership and consistent customer service while also delivering on qualitative and quantitative value to the bottom line through cost savings and transformation through innovation

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Sourcing and/or Finance and/or Management Consulting and/or Agency experience
• Master’s degree and 3 years of Sourcing and/or Finance and/or Management Consulting and/or Agency experience
• Doctorate degree
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Sourcing and/or Finance and/or Management Consulting and/or Agency experience
