Job Description:

We’re seeking an experienced general manager to take ownership of our upcoming Toys ”R” Us store in the Houston Galleria. You are passionate about toys, entertainment, play and ultimately like having FUN. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and have created world-class retail experiences.

Position Overview:

We’re focused on user experience—both for our guests and our product makers. Thus we are looking for a GM who has an unrelenting desire to make sure every guest has a seamless and satisfying experience with products and team members. The GM will oversee all store team members and retail operations. Ultimately responsible for driving sales and ensuring that our partners KPIs are being met through meaningful customer experiences. The GM will be responsible for training, product education and executing on the in-store guest experience.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and coach team members and managers to achieve store goals
  • Plan monthly social and partner events with the support of the corporate marketing team
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service
  • Network within the community to create brand awareness and interest
  • Maintain positive relationships with third-party vendors and maker partners
  • Manage store P&L within budget and maximize profitability
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience designed to build customer loyalty
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leaders and corporate partners
  • Ensure store policies and procedures are in place and being followed
  • Assist the partnerships team with product performance and customer feedback analysis
  • Coordinate with marketing and partnerships teams to establish performance trends
  • Maintain excellence in day-to-day operations

Job Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and motivate and engage people
  • Proven track record of success in driving sales and customer engagement results
  • Minimum 5 years of store leadership experience in a retail environment; specialty retail a plus!
  • Self starter with ability to execute on business priorities with little hand holding

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience managing, recruiting and cultivating people
  • Demonstrate initiative, persistence, ability to problem solve, and enthusiasm for learning new skills
  • Clear and effective communicator
