Job Description:

The Financial Analyst II position will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial reporting tools and applications, performing financial analysis, supporting budget development, forecasting, long-range planning, and special projects. This position will consult, and partner with, business executives and senior nuclear management on financial priorities and challenges. Will influence and drive financial acumen across the organization. Effectively communicates with senior leaders of the business who may not be financial experts. Develops and formulates recommendations based on analyses and operational knowledge. Identifies trends that result in resource allocation recommendations. Key work activities also include formulating and consolidating budgets, and developing consolidated financial information.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on financial and related systems
  • Support preparation of financial presentations for management review, cost/status reporting, and decision making
  • Develop year-end O&M and capital projections
  • Evaluate and report business unit O&M and capital budget variances
  • Develop and maintain complex financial reports to support the department’s reporting needs
  • Develop a working knowledge of appropriate financial applications
  • Generate reports, graphs and charts as requested using PC and/or financial applications
  • Provide financial, accounting, and business management analytical support to various levels of management and customers
  • Perform month end financial duties including the preparation of journal entries and generation of financial reports
  • Participate as a team member in various special projects or financial studies
  • Lead or participate on teams to solve business problems, make recommendations to management and implement solutions
  • Recommend and design business solutions to automate, streamline and simplify work streams using technology
  • Support the development of long-range business plans and budgets

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or working toward similar certification/ Degree
  • Strong analytical skills and good sense of business acumen
  • Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft FMIS, Power Plant, etc.) and query tool (Business Objects)
  • Experience in a nuclear plant or industrial environment
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Information Technology
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and in a team environment with the ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • changing environment and accept change
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with customers at all levels within the organization

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tool (WebI)
  • Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Three (3) or more years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
