This position is being announced under FEMA’s Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery Employee (CORE) Program. This is a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years, with the option to extend based on workload and funding availability. Veterans Preference does not apply to the CORE selection process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all property and equipment items are used for the purpose procured and intended, and are properly maintained and accounted for according to laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Providing direction and advice to employees on procedures for identifying and maintaining accountability for property in their custody.
  • Coordinating and controlling property and/or equipment within a designated management area or a specialized field of supply operations.
  • Performing a variety of accountable property management duties in the areas of property accountability including acquisition, utilization, identification, inventory control, and disposition of all equipment.
  • Developing procedures to ensure proper protection, security, and maintenance of the property and/or equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Selective service registration is required for males born after 12/31/59.
  • Travel will be required.

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
