Job Responsibilities:

• Be accountable for both the sale and delivery of third-party assurance engagements over Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) information in both voluntary and regulated disclosure such as annual sustainability reports and provincially regulated greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting.
• Working in a team environment, lead projects to assist clients in their efforts to accurately and completely disclose quantitative and qualitative ESG performance information.
• Monitor the engagement team’s progress against the plan and alter it when needed.
• Stay current on and be accountable for team knowledge of the various ESG disclosure standards and frameworks against which assurance is conducted, for example the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the GHG Protocol, the
• World Gold Council Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs), Mining Association of Canada Toward Sustainable Mining (TSM), regulatory
• GHG reporting standards and many others. Be comfortable serving clients across industries including financial services, mining, real estate and many others.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrate strong writing skills and an ability to translate recommendations and other ideas effectively and concisely in reports, presentation materials, client proposals and other written communication
• Ability to take a pragmatic approach to issues that underpin client relationships while demonstrating and living the firm’s values
• Share our passion for helping businesses and other clients become more sustainable
• Demonstrate professionalism and poise in working with and presenting to clients or EY executives, and in developing relationships with potential clients
• Willingness for out-of-town travel, either domestically or internationally (may be required approximately 20% of the time)
• Be a self-starter and a leader who takes ownership for tasks and team performance, and proactively seeks out ways to better address our clients’ needs
• Be a team player and leader, able to successfully guide the work of others and be committed to achieving common goals
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
• With support from team, ability to design and execute a logical phased approach to understand complex or unusual issues client issues, and design, recommend and implement insightful and pragmatic solutions
• An interest and ability to establish a personal brand and network amongst the Canadian ESG disclosure community
• Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise
  Valid CPA designation (Canadian license)
• Excellent project management and team leadership skills
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and PowerPoint skills
• An awareness of key standards and trends in sustainability/ESG reporting and an interest and ability in deepening this knowledge base

Qualification & Experience:

• 12-15+ years of professional experience leading sustainability and/or financial audit engagements within a public accounting firm environment
• Public speaking experience/capability
