Job Description:

Emery Jensen Distribution is a division of Ace Hardware Corporation that distributes hardline products to the independent Pro Lumber, Paint, Hardware, Grocery, and E-retailer customer segments. Our team is currently looking for a Director of Marketing. This role is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Emery Jensen Marketing department including brand (positioning, architecture, media, creative and public relations), promotional marketing, Emery Jensen website, local retailer advertising, in-store signage and Emery Jensen shows.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct, guide and advise activities to ensure that all programs, communications and platforms align with one another. Foster and guide integrated cross channel communications and programs to efficiently and effectively deliver against company goals.
• Ultimate P&L responsibility of an overall marketing budget. Develop smart, effective and efficient budget allocations and plans for Emery Jensen designed to achieve the marketing goals. Exercise strategic thinking and professionalism when re-allocations or budget reductions are required in order to meet company financial goals.
• Represent Emery Jensen marketing with all internal departments, external partners, retailers and our vendor communities. Drive collaboration, cooperation and innovation across all stakeholder groups.
• Establish, develop, guide and enforce the overall strategic direction for Emery Jensen marketing. Ensure that all marketing, channel initiatives and overall message align with one another and to the overall company goals. Lead the department and hold staff (4 direct reports) accountable to ensure that all are working synergistically and effectively towards the established goals.
• Set and guide the strategic direction for all promotional marketing and retailer interactions that the marketing department develops and delivers across all marketing channels to drive Emery Jensen brand value, customer engagement and profitable transactions.

Job Requirements:

• Comprehensive understanding and practical experience across marketing, advertising, promotions, market research, loyalty and relationship marketing disciplines
• Effective P & L management to deliver budgeted results
• Successful track record of managing multiple agencies and vendor partners
• Strategic development, design, implementation and execution of consumer-facing programs and platforms designed to build the brand, drive retail traffic and profitable consumer transactions

Qualification & Experience:

• Prior agency experience a plus
• Proven ability to set the overall brand vision, strategy, drive consistent execution and results
• Demonstrated leadership experience including managing teams and strong ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results at all levels of the organization, including the retailer community
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field. MBA preferred
• 15+ years progressive experience in Marketing and/or Advertising
