Job Description:

The Enterprise Software Supervisor under general supervision analyzes software capabilities and usage, configures, and maintains large scale applications and documentations. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the division, and performing a variety of technical tasks related to the department needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Determines information needs in coordination with personnel of user departments by drawing detailed flowcharts and block diagrams or applying other related methods;
  • Assists with presentation and justification of annual budget requests; monitors and reconciles assigned budgets;
  • Designs, develops, documents, analyzes, creates, tests or makes modifications of computer systems, databases, or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications;
  • Assists in the development and improvement of department policies and procedures;
  • Estimates personnel requirements, cost and time for programming project;
  • Evaluates design alternatives of proposed information processing or network systems, and operations of those implemented to ensure efficient utilization of resources;
  • Studies existing systems and procedures of organizations to determine feasibility of conversion to data processing or network application methods;
  • Prepares systems development project plans and schedules;
  • Monitors departmental purchasing processes to ensure compliance with County policies and procedures and determines most efficient utilization of financial resources;
  • Designs, documents, tests, creates, or makes modifications of computer technologies related or interconnected to operating systems;

Job Requirements:

  • Skill/Ability to: identify, troubleshoot, research and provide solutions to hardware and software problems; communicate technical issues and solutions to a non-technical audience complete projects on time and within budget; operate personal computer using standard office operating software and general office equipment; prepare and maintain records, maintain filing systems, compile and organize information; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; promote program activities; make mathematical computations; prepare clear, concise and comprehensive written and electronic reports, and staff studies; schedule, supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff; and establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted during the course of work. Pass a background investigation.
  • Knowledge of: computer software and hardware operations; standard software applications; computer peripherals, including printers, plotters, modems and scanners, mobile devices; the principles and practices of effective customer service; principles and practices of supervision and training; budget principles and practices; purchasing, accounts payable and other fiscal activities; English usage, grammar, punctuation and spelling; techniques for effective interpersonal communications; modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment to include Windows and Microsoft based products.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, plus five (5) years of general professional data processing and analysis. With one (1) year of developmental supervisory experience.
