Job Description:

The UK Communications Manager is part of the Customer Team and reports into the Senior Communications Manager. This role will support the implementation of a communications strategy, plan and activities. You will also deal with reactive communications and incoming media enquiries including complaints and issues. You will have excellent writing skills and good media relationships and will proactively seek out and tell positive stories about our business. You will bring your social media experience to really drive our presence in this space. You will also help to implement a range of internal communication activities to engage the employees within our business and other key internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a good understanding of the consumer airline story and campaign calendar so the businesses complement each other, be included in airline stories where appropriate
  • Help to deliver the easyJet holidays internal and external PR plans
  • Provide full communications cover for when the Senior Communications Manager is on holiday
  • Work closely with your peers in the airline communications team both internally and externally to ensure integration and consistency of message
  • Create content and story ideas to support our social channels
  • Develop and share a press office calendar of stories and activities including press trips and influencer programmes with the airline PR team

Job Requirements:

  • Develop and deliver a press trip and influencer programme to drive strong social coverage and content
  • Through inspiring content, drive users from our social feeds and our followers (experts) feeds as well as other social trending conversations.
  • Be responsible for running the press office
  • Working with the Social Media Manager, support in the roll out of the easyJet holidays social channels.
  • Develop and sell-in stories to media to drive awareness and consideration of the company’s brand, destinations and hotels through positive press coverage

  • Monitor media coverage and prepare regular evaluation reports to keep key stakeholders and the holidays business informed
  • Proven track record in growing engaged organic social audiences at scale across the key platforms.
  • Develop a range of written materials for both internal and external use including press statements, press releases, speaking notes and briefing documents

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience of delivering high profile campaigns and generating positive press coverage
  • Ability to drive users from our social feeds and our followers (experts) feeds as well as other social trending conversations.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Proven level of crisis and issues management experience
  • Consumer brand experience
  • Good relationships with key media and ability to forge new, effective media relationships
  • Proven track record in growing engaged organic social audiences at scale across the key platforms.
  • Good organisational and planning skills
