Disney Vacancies – Production Tax Manager

Job Description:

The EMEA Programming and Production Tax Manager will support the EMEA Senior Manager, Production and Programming on UK tax compliance and reporting, and providing tax advisory support to all of Disney EMEA’s line of businesses, with a focus on supporting US Studio and EMEA production activity. Manage and oversee the Employment Tax compliance requirements, including IR35. Support the EMEA tax team on ad-hoc projects. Work with junior members of the team to develop their skills and knowledge.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be the liaison between other corporate departments such as (e.g. accounting, legal, treasury, IT) to ensure effective and accurate implementation of business initiatives.
• Liaising with Controllership Media and Compliance teams to ensure that any accounting requirements, processes, calculations of any potential new productions is fully understood
• Provide commercial and practical tax efficient advice to the businesses within EMEA, including structuring and transfer pricing
• Work with the business to fully understand all commercial initiatives, considering tax implications and suggesting potential solutions to manage risks and maximise opportunities
• Pro-actively gain commercial understanding of the businesses to enable identification of tax issues on a timely basis and resolve them effectively

Job Requirements:

• Qualified ACA (and CTA a plus)
• At least 6 years tax compliance and accounting experience
• Experience of working in a multinational and media sector a plus
• Big 4 tax experience is a preference

Qualification & Experience:

• Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel (SAP experience a plus)
• Able to manage workload to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks and work streams
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
• Good communication skills being able to communicate tax technical issues easily to non-tax professionals
• International tax advisory experience for multinational companies – including US tax experience is a plus. Need to be commercial and practical.
• Significant UK tax compliance experience
• Attention to detail
