Disney Recruitment – Senior Attorney

Job Description:

The Disney EMEA legal team is hiring a Senior Attorney to join the team acting as on licensing deals for television channels, content and transactional services, as well as platform and partnership deals for our direct-to-consumer services Disney+ & Star.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for queries from finance, marketing and technical representatives within a specific territory group(s)
• Liaise with the sales teams in London and overseas offices in relation to specific deals and to provide support and guidance
• Draft and conclude content licence agreements, channel affiliate distribution agreements and digital transactional agreements, including amendments to existing deals, as well as providing support to direct-to-consumer services agreement and other legal documentation required by the business
• Strengthen internal and external relationships in ways that benefit the business

Job Requirements:

• 5 years + PQE
• DTC digital services experience ideally
• Ideally UK law professional qualification
• Television and/or digital media experience (preferably in distribution and licensing)
• Contract drafting and commercial IP/IT law experience

Qualification & Experience:

• Accurate completion of agreements within agreed timelines
• Methodical, meticulous and with great attention to detail
• Interact well with people who have different backgrounds and work styles
• Ability to communicate legal matters to non-legal audience (e.g. sales teams)
• Self-starter and self-supporting
• Ability to draft from scratch to address new and challenging issues
• Understanding of negotiation and excellent contract drafting skills
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a portfolio of contracts
• French language skills desirable but not mandatory
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
