Job Description:

A champion for the consumer, the Director of Brand Marketing will be responsible for leading a team to define and capture key consumer insights related to current and future products, driving the innovation pipeline in partnership with the Culinary team, and carrying out the execution and maintenance of marketing programs.

This role is critical to overall strategic success of Baskin-Robbins, and encompasses insights, product development, merchandising, and in-store experience. The role collaborates primarily with R&D, Customer Engagement, PR/Communications, Field Marketing, Supply Chain, Commercialization, Quality, and Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, define, and initiate test market activity and pipeline product development
  • Build promotional strategies, based on strong understanding of customer value, economics and competitive actions
  • Develop and execute strategies to capitalize on growth opportunities by leveraging consumer insights and understanding the competitive landscape
  • Develop specific visual merchandising plans for products/categories, in-store
  • Acquire customer knowledge and champion customer insights across all levels of the organization to feed decision-making and ensure that guests are gaining outstanding value from our Brand
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop products and associated marketing support
  • Develop programs that create growth supported by fact-based business cases
  • Establish the annual marketing calendar that will drive category sales and build the brand
  • Analyze/interpret large amounts of data to draw clear, actionable conclusions to build synthesized plans

Job Requirements:

  • Analyze, monitor and report on the impact of programs on goals and objectives.
  • Select, engage, manage and develop a best-in-class team of marketing talent
  • Develop and oversee the brand budget – including test markets, program development, and execution
  • Effectively communicate business cases enterprise-wide to ensure buy-in and execution

Qualification & Experience:

  • Exceptional analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • At least eight years progressively senior marketing experience for consumer brands
  • Experience leading teams
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Extensive experience using customer insights to define and build a customer experience and product pipeline that delivers on the Brand strategy
  • Strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Category management or Product development/Innovation experience
