Job Description:

As a Food Server at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, your accommodating personality and ability to balance the needs of a diverse clientele will facilitate a dining experience that guests will savor long after they have taken the last bite.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow sanitation and table maintenance standards for luxury guest service.
• Assist other employees with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
• Accurately place guest orders, inspect orders for quality and accuracy, ensure correct plating, and serve according to standard.
• Ask politely for the age-identification of any guest who appears to be under the age of 30 when ordering alcoholic beverages.
• Garnish all cocktails from the bar area.
• Monitor guests’ needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.
• Ensure consistent communication with management, departmental employees and lateral departments.
• Perform necessary tasks to service guests- i.e. taking and filling all food and drink orders and assisting in maintaining guests’ dining area in a clean and neat manner.
• Create a culinary adventure for our guests.
• Assist guests with seating.
• Remain up to date on Hotel current events and the details of all Food & Beverage outlets.
• Tour guide our wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage choices.
• Promote good guest relations and provide excellent guest response to special requests and complaints.
• Deliver prompt, efficient and courteous service of food and beverages to guests in accordance with established standards.
• Maintain thorough menu and product knowledge.
• Participate as an employee in producing a smoothly and efficiently run banquet event.

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge of tableside service.
• Working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
• Advanced understanding of food & beverage service including wine and spirits knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guests.
• Polished appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in Mandarin or Cantonese.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.

Qualification & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience in a bar, lounge, nightclub or full service restaurant.
• Previous experience working in a similar luxury resort setting.
