Job Description:
In the role of Head of Product Design, you will own the vision and responsibility of providing a world-class user experience across the MDLIVE ecosystem. You will provide the strategic design direction and vision for the next generation digital health experience efficaciously. This role will be responsible for delivering experience design solutions that work seamlessly and easily across products and help deliver the brand promise. You will collaborate effectively with a variety of business leaders, technology leaders, product managers, corporate branding, and other key stakeholders to deliver projects and maintain design operations. You will identify and set product design strategy, envision complex UX ecosystems, and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You will possess a clear vision of the future of user experience and pursue forward-thinking design. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will work in direct partnership with the entire Product team to deliver world-class healthcare products and services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement a robust, end-to-end UX/UI consumer testing capability and standard practices, ensuring that voice of the customer is included in all significant design decisions.
- Implement a relentless focus on customer-centric, data-driven approach to design: Advocate for the customer/end-user in all decisions that impact user experience, present data to support design decisions, measure impacts of design changes to ensure success.
- Embody excellence in product design at all levels: Build departmental processes to ensure excellence in design, seek feedback from key business partners including Product, Engineering and Marketing, hold design team to high standards for output and accountability.
- Build trust and productive ways of working with product VPs and product managers. Work in synchronized fashion to ensure design work is supporting overall project timelines.
- Influential leader representing Design across the business providing thought leadership and creative vision for the design team and serving as the primary voice of design inside and outside the company.
- Effectively prioritize work and manage workload across the team to ensure product roadmap is delivered and design specific objectives are achieved.
- Design leader responsible for all UX/ UI design functions across the MDLIVE experience.
- Create roadmaps to effectively communicate long term plans to the organization and to external partners.
- Drive operational and execution excellence, while leading creative and holistic thinking at scale across diverse product releases, platforms. Ensure Design brings the best creative thinking to the product with consistency and within committed timeframes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain design standards, component library and templates throughout the MDLIVE experience.
Job Requirements:
- Solid understanding of how to test, measure and refine designs based on customer feedback and market data.
- Visionary with a portfolio that demonstrates the balance of business, user needs and analytics with design aesthetic execution is a must to be considered for this position.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and advocate designs.
- Embody a strong and effective creative point of view inside the organization.
- Strong leadership skills enabling the design team’s creativity and drive to continually improve their work.
- Possess a forward-thinking capacity and the demonstrated ability to motivate teams both inside and out the department to follow and invest in their ideas.
Qualification & Experience:
- 12+ years of UX/UI experience preferably in healthcare or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience implementing a Human-Centered Design methodology in product development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant program of study is required.
- 7+ years building, managing, and mentoring a team of researchers and designers, including senior level and lead designers at large enterprise size creative/design management experience is a must.
