Job Description:
Schwab Charitable’s Business Development team is responsible for long-term sustainable growth, relationship management, a premium client experience and providing timely, relevant charitable planning education to partners and clients. Reporting to the Managing Director of Business Development, this leader will source new opportunities for growth and manage relationships with donors, wealth managers, and non-profit organizations by serving as a trusted resource in partnership with other business units at Charitable and colleagues at Charles Schwab & Co.
Job Responsibilities:

- Listening to our clients and extrapolating the detail that will help you assist them in finding the right solution, sometimes on short notice
- Consultative client and colleague relations that inspire trust
- Using good judgment and delegating when appropriate
- Coaching/mentoring direct reports; leading with integrity
- Partnering with marketing and complex assets teams to develop and deliver relevant content that is on message and in brand
- Solving complex problems in collaboration with several other experts, internal and external
- A confident presentation style that makes an impact or influences audiences—large and small—of various disciplines via several mediums and platforms
- Annual initiative planning and implementation in alignment with Schwab Charitable strategic objectives and priorities, pivoting when necessary
- Cross-enterprise account planning that prioritizes for areas of greatest opportunity and drives intended key growth results
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and presentation skills required
- A passion for serving the community and making a difference
- Basic understanding of investments (publicly and non-publicly traded), common ultra-high net worth tax planning concerns and planned giving alternatives
- Existing network of registered investment advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and family offices in the territory preferred
Qualification & Experience:
- 10+ years of professional experience including people leadership, post-graduate degree and/or industry designation preferred
- Relationship management experience in the private wealth and/or investment management industries
- 5 + years of financial services industry experience
- Experience navigating “high stakes” transactions and serving multi-generational households or advisory firms that have complex, urgent needs, especially where there is competitive risk
