Job Description:
Interacts with guests and associates to proactively identify suspicion indicators, assess threat potential, and engage in security interviewing to deter and prevent malicious acts. Serves as a general security presence and deterrent to crime and rule infractions while assigned to a fixed post. Utilizes quick decision-making skills and sound judgement to respond to and address situations beyond the capabilities of unarmed security associates.
Job Responsibilities:
- Requests assistance of law enforcement as necessary.
- Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guests or working with fellow associates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Adheres to Cedar Fair’s Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Meets Cedar Fair’s attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair’s attendance policies.
Job Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age.
- At least two years of armed secuirty expereince.
- Possesses OPOTA 20 Hour Private Security Firearms Certification
- Possesses a valid State Driver’s License.
Qualification & Experience:
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
- Must have good interpersonal skills, as the job involves working closely with both guests and associates.
- Ability to remain calm and work in difficult situations that may become challenging and high pressure.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- May be required to work longer than scheduled, due to the nature of the job.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to recognize when additional assistance or direction is required and to seek that assistance or direction.
