Job Description:

The Area Manager of Admissions is responsible for leading the operation of the admissions department, ensuring efficient and effective department operations. Supervises subordinate supervisory staff as assigned. Performs related administrative and professional work as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and managing the Admissions and Tolls, Guest Services, Call Center, and Park Ambassador budgets, including both labor and operating supplies, tracking compliance on a daily basis and reporting any deviations, including both labor and operating supplies, tracking compliance daily and reporting any deviations.
  • Manage the daily operation of the Admissions and Guest Services Department and associated locations to maximize guest satisfaction with our entry experience.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment for associates and guests.
  • Work with Human Resources to hire entry level associates and supervision for area of responsibility to ensure locations are staffed appropriately for optimal efficiency and guest service. Allocate labor resources appropriately to the department, based on associate availability and staffing needs, including adjusting in the moment.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll for associates in the department.
  • Plan and deliver a comprehensive training program for the department, including new hire orientation, specialized training, targeted retraining, and leadership training and development.
  • Plan operation and analyze processes in the spirit of continuous improvement, including evaluating existing practices for guests and associates and making recommended adjustments.
  • Contribute regular feedback to upper management, finance, and marketing on the ticketing, the entry experience, and guest feedback with the overall goal of maximizing the guest experience.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in developing high impact training for hourly employees
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills. Attention to detail. Must have effective interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills, especially for dealing with the public and managing a large volume of associates.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years related experience in high guest service position preferred

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience leading and directing the work of others, including supervisors and managers
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must work well under pressure
  • Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity of spreadsheets and word processing
