Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to safely layout, fit-up, and weld a quality product according to company policies/procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for putting safety first with a goal to prevent all injuries, occupational illnesses and safety incidents. Weld components per American Welding Society (AWS) standards and engineering/manufacturing prints and documentation. Interpret metric drawings that use Geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) to setup fixtures, tack and weld components in horizontal and flat positions using welding gun, cutting torches, carbon arc and other fabrication tools (i.e grinder, chisel, tip cleaner). Includes use of grinding, flame cutting equipment. Prioritize work to meet production schedules. Support the movement of materials for Fabrication and Paint areas. Electronically and manually maintain documentation for labor hour records, process work order and production documentation. May have responsibility for the operation of robots including robot area safety and robotic checks (torch, straightness, harness inspection, etc). Take initiative to identify, document, communicate and correct problems related to fabrication, report discrepancies and recommend solutions. Work and interact effectively in a team environment in alignment with our Code of Conduct and Values in Action. Work with limited supervision May perform other tasks as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Welding experience or in the process of completing /completed certified trade school/technical degree in welding
• Ability to read fabrication blueprints/engineering drawings.
• Heavy crane equipment experience
• Experience with basic fabrication hand tools and equipment (i.e. grinder, chisel, tip cleaner)
• Experience with cutting torches and/or carbon arc (gouging)
• Understanding of geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
• Ability to read standard work, prints, and write continuous improvement cards
• Ability to utilize computers for production transactions
• Understanding of the metric measurement systems
