Job Description:

As the Costuming & Crafts Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the operations of the costuming team, while also collaborating with the other areas of the Entertainment department to achieve project goals and objectives

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the hiring, development, and performance evaluation of the team, including the completion of appropriate paperwork and administering of developmental documentation
  • Supervise all deliveries, pickups, laundry, and dry-cleaning procedures
  • Supervise the quality assurance of Costuming and Crafts product and support areas
  • Research, develop and execute all park, show and event Costuming and Crafts including the costumed character production process.
  • Maintain inventory of Costuming and Crafts supplies, equipment and systems.
  • Monitor the expenses and labor budgets that align with Park and Departmental objectives
  • Develop, implement, and lead the department training programs
  • Document, track, and report Costuming and Crafts archives and resources useful life to Manager of Costumes and Theatrical Services and park teams

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals

Qualification & Experience:

  • Associates or BA in Theatre, Theatre Arts, Costume Arts, or equivalent professional experience preferred
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Costume Design, Costume and Crafts Fabrication, Costume and Crafts Materials, Sewing and Patterning
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • A passion for customer service
  • Flexibility to perform varied duties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with high aptitude for computer software systems
  • Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests’ needs
  • Two (2) years professional supervisory experience in a costume shop environment or professional costume shop work experience preferred
