Become a SeaWorld Ambassador and be part of something real and amazing Job Responsibilities: Perform aquarium husbandry techniques including taxonomy, record keeping, aquarium filtration, aquarium theory, and emergency procedures. Answer guest questions concerning animals. Maintain all equipment and area responsibilities on a daily basis. Basic water quality testing, chemical additions, salt water make up, pH and temperature testing. Consistently practices safe work habits to include the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting unsafe situations. Basic food preparation and feeding of animals in specific aquarium area. Assist in basic animal transports both in and out of park. Utilize proper aquarium maintenance techniques for algae removal, display diving, and aquarium decorating. Assist with minor repairs to aquarium filtration systems. Maintain safe and sanitary work areas and animal environments. Job Requirements: Have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a SEA driver’s license. Be able to complete provided CPR training/certification. Pass SeaWorld swim/dive test. Have a B.S. in Biology, Marine Science or related field Have at least 1½ years of experience as an Aquarist II or equivalent experience. Have a High School diploma or equivalent. Be at least 18 years old. Qualification & Experience: Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards. Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations. Be able to stand for long periods of time. Be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines. Provide excellent service to guests and team members. Be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds. Be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
